Let's read a thousand books to a child before school age!

You thought it was just impossible, didn't you? But it is a practical, successful project. 1000 Books Before School is a program run through libraries in the state of Victoria, Australia. This program has proven that Poddan's language skills are rapidly increasing and that a generation of book lovers will be born for life.

Did you think we could not do that? Can't we really? There are only a few pages in the books of young children who think seriously when reading a thousand books. It's time to finish reading a book. But too much? Not a thousand, but at least a hundred books? Can't we teach a child twenty books a year for the first five years? If so, this is not really an impossible task.

A child can read books on his own by the age of five. But waiting until we introduce books to them means wasting five years of being able to fall in love with books.

As children learn to recognize color patterns at an early age, they are drawn to books and read aloud. Even at a young age, these things can cause their brain to grow. When the baby is about ten months to a year old, they try to imitate the sounds we show in a book. In addition to the story in the book, this is a great opportunity to teach different things about color and animals.

When the little ones get a little older and understand a little bit of what's going on in the story books, they learn to enjoy these stories. They learn that reading is a time to hang out with their parents and go to a new world of magic. After that, reading books is a lie! This is a good opportunity to teach the little ones about the world. This can be done by having a conversation parallel to the story of the book. 'That baby elephant ran away without listening to his mother and fell into the river! The son listens to what the mother says, doesn't he? "

There is no doubt that the world of children growing up with books is expanding. The empathy of such children is relatively high. They are creative. Vocabulary is advanced. When these children reach school age, they are at the forefront of logical ability and restraint. A child who has a collection of books of his own usually does not tear up books and does not wear sacrificial objects on them. If a small shelf is set up to hold the books, children will learn to read.

This is a good idea, but where do you find so many books to teach children, and where do you think they have time? For those who have library facilities, the best choice is to get books suitable for children from the library. This is because children have to buy books regularly as their reading levels change rapidly. What can be done without that facility? It would be better to buy two books with the money spent on plastic pieces that children bring as toys. We can suggest to others to give books as gifts for children's birthdays. We can do the same when giving gifts to other children. It is not difficult for several parents to share their children's books with their children.

For those who do not have enough time a day to read books with their children, there is no solution. They need to be told to think a little more about their day-to-day habits, routine, and time spent with their children.

I will end this post with a small example. I work as a librarian at a private secondary school in Melbourne. The school has girls between the ages of 13-18. This is one of the leading schools in Melbourne in terms of A / L results. The children at this school are all grown-ups with technology. A laptop is a must for those students for school work. Even in such an environment, these children love to read books. It's as thirsty as it gets. They have a keen interest in reading the latest books and competing with their friends. I'm so excited to see that excitement. I know these are the results of the love that I instilled in those children for books at an early age. If children, who have grown up with the latest technology from birth, love to read books so much, does that mean that technology is not a hindrance to it? Reading these books also makes those children stand out in their education.

The habit of reading books can easily be a gift to our children. The sympathetic logical child that it creates will be very useful to the world of tomorrow.
