Flying saucers .. ???

Today, the word has become so popular that anyone can understand what it means to simply say "flying saucer." But a closer look reveals that the use of this word is somewhat erroneous.

The term "flying saucer" was coined in 1947 by Kenneth Arnold. But so far there have been very few reports of 'saucer-shaped objects' from all over the world (whether they are true or false is a separate topic to be discussed separately). Accordingly, we must understand that flying saucers are only a subset of a series of recorded events.

(It is a common feature of any society to use the name of a subset to refer to the main set. For example, the majority of Sri Lankans refer to each snack as "Tipitip" and each SUV as "Jeep").

However, the more scientifically correct and commonly used name for the term "flying saucer" is UFO (Unidentified Flying Objects). It can simply be described as an unidentified flying object moving in the sky or stationary, or a bright light (especially at night). These can be seen by the naked eye as well as by technical equipment such as radar.

Compared to the total number of events reported so far, the percentage of visible objects or groups of light is higher than that of a single object or light. Objects seen during the day, as mentioned earlier, appear in the shape of a saucer, as well as an egg, a long tube, a disk, a pyramid, and a sphere.

Most of the nighttime lights appeared as single-colored bright lights (often white, yellow, red, and orange), while some appeared as beams of light of different colors or dimming. About 97% of the objects seen in the sky are moving at speeds exceeding the speed of sound (330 meters per second), some of which are currently traveling at speeds faster than any spacecraft ever built on Earth.

One of the most striking features of some of these displays is that the object or objects come at such a high speed as mentioned above and turn about 180 degrees in a matter of seconds (1000ths of a second = 1 millisecond) and move rapidly in the opposite direction. This is unbelievable to us earthlings.

Not only Earth-made aircraft but also spacecraft cannot turn 180 degrees in at least a few seconds. To do this, take a circular flight, which can take several minutes. For a man who is unable to resist or control the earth's gravity, it is only a dream to go so fast in the sky as above, to stop at once, and to turn back at the opposite speed. To make that dream come true, there must be technology that can cut through the lines of gravity.

At the current level of human physics, there is no way to find such a technology. So, if these are actually alien spacecraft coming to Earth, then we have to accept that those creatures are clearly more advanced, intelligent beings. Newton's laws and Einstein's laws, which are the core of the physics of the earth, have already been surpassed.

They have overcome major obstacles in life, speed, and fuel for humans to travel in space. (Voyager 1, the fastest man-made spacecraft ever built, will take about 70,000 years to reach Proxima Centauri, the closest star to Earth except the Sun!)

However, the most important question here is whether it really looks like an alien spacecraft. As mentioned in the previous article, although most of these are scams and deceptions to other celestial bodies, there are still unexplained cases.

And the problem I have had from the beginning is, if, as mentioned in the first paragraph above, differently shaped spacecraft actually come to Earth, are they all different spacecraft coming from the same extraterrestrial world? (Like Earth rockets and space shuttles), or whether the Earth has been the focus of several other worlds! Unfortunately, we do not have the answers to any of these questions.

“Some strangely shaped objects were flying high in the sky. These were moving at high speeds but made no noise. ”

“A bright spherical light was coming from behind my plane. The mysterious light, which had been aimed at the plane for several minutes, disappeared the next moment. ”

“A large plane was parked in the garden, illuminating the area as if it were daylight. All of a sudden, something like a door came out and a few creatures I had never seen came out. ”

The above are just some of the types of events that are common to many people who claim to have seen alien spacecraft. Incidents like this are reported almost every day around the world. But only about 5% of the millions of such reports appear to be unidentified flying objects. The majority of the remaining 95% can be proven to be completely false and can be categorized as follows.

Fraudulent actions

A look at recent history reveals that the main purpose of falsely claiming to have experienced something they did not actually experience was to become popular. (Apart from this, there are those who make such statements due to various mental illnesses.) There is an irresponsible media capable of fulfilling their purpose then as well as today. As such, such fraudulent activities continue to occur.

Many world-famous people have made false claims that they saw alien spaceships or creatures and had contact with them. They do not hesitate to present not only fraudulently prepared photographs and videos but also witnesses to prove it. Such scams are seldom caught, as not only the general public but also scholars have limited knowledge of the field. But that is not all. An example is George Adamsky, an American who shocked the world in the 1950s, nicknamed the "Fraudster of the Age" by some.

In 1953, he authored a book, Flying Saucers Have Landed, noting that he had contacts with aliens. At that time, almost every day, his opinion or interview was published in the media. He was later revealed to be a major fraudster by discovering that the flying saucer photos he submitted contained parts of a vacuum cleaner! False statements, photographs, etc. made in this way are still common today. However, the detrimental effect of such actions on those who seek to find the truth is immense.

Misconceptions

In comparison, a large number of false reports seem to have been deceived into something else. These misconceptions are influenced by certain creations or activities of nature as well as man. Lenticular clouds are a natural creation that can easily mislead anyone. These often look like huge flying saucers.

Also, at night, many people mistake comets, meteors, and planets for passing through the Earth's atmosphere as alien spacecraft. Reports from some pilots and passengers have been identified as instances of relative deception to other celestial bodies. (Not all.)

Ball Lightning is a marvel of nature that can be terrifying. (Lightning is an electrostatic attraction that has been found to cause chases by humans or animals.) Similarly, man-made objects such as balloons, artificial satellites, rockets, and jets are often mistaken for alien spacecraft. Taken.

In addition to these physical factors, the human eye can be deceived by a number of more complex, scientifically explanatory effects. The most common example is light refraction. As light travels from one medium to another, its deflection can be simply defined as refraction. In most cases, separate hot and cold air columns form in the atmosphere. These act as different media (the density of the hot air columns is lower) refracting light. (Mirage is also caused by this phenomenon.)

Because of this, anyone can see a clear image of an object or light on the earth in the sky above. (See figure.) Light that sometimes appears as an alien spacecraft has been identified as a reflection of the light beams of vehicles traveling on roads hundreds of miles away. Man also misunderstands other objects as alien spacecraft due to the "After Image Effect" and the "Auto Kinetic Effect".

If you stare at a very bright object or light and look away at once, you will see a dark spot of some shape for a while. This is called the "clip". The kinetic effect is that when you look at a small beam of light for a long time, that light appears to be moving. Because of these visual illusions common to all human eyes, any person can see an 'alien spacecraft' at any time.

Although the vast majority of mysterious object appearances are untrue based on the above reasons, there are a handful of events that, as mentioned earlier, are incomprehensible to scientists. They cannot be proved to be false for the above reasons. So do aliens really come to Earth? The answer is in the future!
